About
Christine was born and raised in Manila, Philippines. She attended a national science high school where she did projects in computing with some very talented peers. She also joined a couple of international math competitions and was active in her youth frisbee league. She was part of various organizations such as CAUSE Philippines, where she held fundraisers and school visits to mentor public science high school kids in applying for prestigious scholarships worldwide.
In 2019, she attended New York University where she majored in Data Science and took fun courses such as Love Actually and seminars in Philosophy. On campus, she was active as a housing Resident Assistant, Women In Computing club officer, and D-I Womens Ultimate Frisbee Athlete. In 2023, shortly after she received her Bachelors from NYU as a University Honors Scholar, she competed in the World Under-24 Ultimate Frisbee Championships in Nottingham, United Kingdom. This is the highest level of frisbee competition for the said age group and her team was able to uplift Philippines' womens rankings in the sport to 9th place globally. She then pursued a role as a Data Engineer at a web services company where she honed various skills such as writing optimized code and building robust data pipelines.
Currently, in 2024, she is part of the data team at a dating app that aligns with her values on love and compatibility. Her professional interests include big data, deep learning, visual technology, and human-computer interaction. She enjoys discussing product ideas and the broader societal impacts of technology. Outside tech, she indulges in gastronomy, films, and self-help books. Christine also remains actively involved in ultimate frisbee as the coach of the New York regional Under-20 youth team, which recently competed in the 2024 US Open.
